This is the cast information for “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”, the second of the eight movies in the original “Harry Potter” series. This movie began the tradition of featuring a guest instructor at Hogwarts who was central to the main story. In the first movie Professor Quirrell (played by Ian Hart) only became significant to the storyline in the final confrontation, although he participated in all the key scenes. Gilderoy Lockhart dominated this movie’s plot. This was the second and last movie directed by Chris Columbus, who handed over directing duties for the next movie to Alfonso Cuarón in a controversial decision. However, Harry’s story becomes much darker after the second film and the transition underscored the audiences’ realization of the natural maturing process occurring with the lead actors and the story itself.
